What You Need to Know About Abnormal Transport Panels

Heavy goods vehicles (HGV), long vehicles and oversize loads (also called special transport or heavy and oversized transportation) all require special panels which signalise the potential hazard.

Very common is the panel “Convoi Exceptionnel”, which is mandatory in France for heavy, wide and/or long vehicles. You can frequently see the plate “Schwertransport” in German-speaking countries or “Long Vehicle” in Great Britain. We also have the plate for HGV in Denmark available (Saertransport).

There are several mounting options and design for you to choose from:

Some panels are available as stickers, some as aluminium or aluminium composite plates to screw on the vehicle. These two options are made for long-term applications.

For temporary usage, you should opt for magnetic panels or banners made of flexible PVC material with textile back.
