What You Need to Know About Coloured Conspicuity Tape for Emergency Vehicles
In our shop we offer a variety of conspicuity tapes for emergency vehicles from the global manufacturers 3MTM and Orafol®. The tapes do not only differ in colour but also in reflectivity performance: There is tape providing basic reflectivity RA1, high reflectivity RA2 and maximum reflectivity RA3. Some tapes are based on glass beads, other on microprisms – the latter yielding excellent brightness and wide-angle reflectivity.
Also, you can choose between segmented and non-segmented contour marking tape. The segmented reflective film is also called gaps (after the gaps between the stickers).
In order to make the application of segmented conspicuity tape more user-friendly, the tapes are fitted with application tape. So you do not have to apply every sticker separately but can affix all stickers in a row.
Our conspicuity tapes in different colours consist of retroreflective sheeting and most of them comply with the European standard ECE 104 and bear the respective marking. Since legislation differs from country to country, please make sure to check your national legal requirements concerning conspicuity tape and its permitted variants (e. g. colours, dimensions, segmented/non-segmented) before ordering.
How to Apply and Clean Conspicuity Tape for Emergency Vehicles
Please make sure the substrate is free from soil, oil and other dirt. You can use a special surface preparation agent for that. In case of trapped air under the film, you can use a needle to prick the bubbles and release the air with a squeegee.
For cleaning conspicuity tape for emergency vehicles, please use lukewarm water and common detergent only. Avoid any abrasive or aggressive cleaning agents as well as brushes with hard bristles since they can damage the film surface. If you want to use a high-pressure cleaner, please adhere to the care guidelines.
Please find all relevant information about application and maintenance in the respective information sheet of each product.
